Tim Freke – Love is a Political Act

Bristol’s first spiritual ecology conference, Future NOW, is thrilled to be hosting the hip 21st century sage, Tim Freke, on Saturday 8th November at the Trinity Centre, presenting his revolutionary new talk, Love is a Political Act.

The celebrated ‘Big Love Philosopher’ collaborates with Satish Kumar, Peter Owen Jones, Chloe Goodchild and Joe Hoare for this innovative event in a funky converted church, offering a spiritual response to our current ecological crisis.

At Future NOW – which will explore urgent solutions for sustaining the Earth so we can secure happy and sustainable lives for future generations – Tim will be calling for an inner revolution. “If we want to change society, we have to change ourselves,” he says, “no one else can do it for us.”

Tim proposes that if we want to build a a more harmonious future, the vital starting point is to have a better understanding of Love, as he elucidates in this short video introducing his talk for the Future NOW conference…

A contemporary life commentator and leading authority on world spirituality, Tim is the author of more than 30 books that have been translated into 15 languages, including a top 10 international bestseller and Daily Telegraph ‘Book of the Year’. His latest book and Magnus Opus, The Mystery Experience, is a phenomenally wise and fresh approach to spiritual awakening which he calls “waking up to the WOW”. Passionate and playful, Tim is celebrated for his unique ability to convey complex spiritual teachings in an accessible, fun and user friendly way. His mission is to bring deep spirituality into mainstream culture, to help people become enlivened, connected, empowered and in love with life.

Tim is regularly featured in the global media. He has been waking people up all around the world, including Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, New Orleans, Mexico, Croatia, Prague, Dublin, Holland, South Africa … and next stop, Bristol for Future NOW!

“Love is the answer,” Tim decrees. “For millennia saints and sages, poets and pop stars have been telling us that harnessing the transformative power of love is the secret to creating the world we want to live in. Is this just well-meaning naiveté or could it actually be true? Love can be seen as simply fluffy and sweet, but it is also deep and strong. Love is not only a wonderful feeling of connection; it is a powerful force for social transformation. History has taught us that political change alone simply leads to the same problems with people waving a different coloured flag. What is needed is an evolution of our collective state of consciousness, so that we feel connected and act from love. This is the only practical way forward and it starts with you and me … right now.”

Advance tickets for Future NOW cost £55 / £65 on the door.
